After practicing the protocol demonstrated in Video 5, people should be able to recall or imagine a traumatic event without experiencing disturbing feelings, such as fear, anger, grief, despair, confusion, shame, disgust, and craving. The traumatic event can be remembered from the past, experienced in the present as a flashback, or imagined in the future as a threat.
