Butterball LLC announced that it will cut 265 more jobs at its Longmont plant . Earlier this year Butterball cut 209 positions. The new cuts will take effect in November. The plant will remain open and function as a “further processing plant”. Turkey meat from other locations will be brought in to the plant for further preparation. Butterball’s actions are an attempt to curtail losses in the face of the high costs for corn, soybean, meal, and other feed ingredients.
